Holland Park, a southside suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia is approximately 6 kilometres south-east of the CBD.
It is bounded by Greenslopes, Coorparoo, Carina Heights, Mount Gravatt East and Holland Park West.
Holland Park owes its name to the late Julius Holland, who owned a large area of scrubland for many years.
It was settled from 1865 with the land mainly used for farming. Julius Holland sold "Holland Estate" in 1882 but the estates in the vicinity adopted the suburb's name and a much more extensive area is now comprehensively known as Holland Park.
Tourists can explore in numerous parks in the suburb.
This includes Bassett Street Park, Beryl Crescent Park, Glenlinton Street Park, Murton Avenue Park and Glindemann Drive Park.
Kids can also play basketball/netball and cricket pitch at Seville Park. Located at 125 Harold Street is the W. J. Scott Park that features a car park, picnic area/shelter, and playground. It also includes Holland Park Guides, and the Mt Gravatt RSL Club and Eastern Suburbs Rugby league fields.
Holland Park is home for educational institutions.
The Holland Park State School at 59 Abbotsleigh Street, and Seville Road State School at Cnr Oates Avenue & Roscoe Street are government primary schools. St Joachim's School is a Catholic primary school located at 41 Yuletide Street.
Cavendish Road State High School, a government secondary school for boys and girls is found at the corner of Cavendish and Holland Roads. It also includes a special education program.
