About Kenmore

Kenmore is an Australian suburb of the City of Brisbane , Queensland.

The suburb is 10 kilometers (6.2 mi ) south-west of the Brisbane CBD on the Brisbane River.

Kenmore is a leafy neighborhood with a large concentration of inhabitants and families in the trade. It is characterized by single homes although there is a growth in townhouses and apartments throughout the suburb.

Kenmore has greatly benefited from the Centenary Highway which gives it direct access to the city via Milton Road, Coronation Drive or the Legacy Way (toll road) since 2015.

History of Kenmore

Throughout the 1840s, European colonization started as part of a sheep and cattle drive that stretched from Milton to Mt. Crosby. Land was opened to new British immigrants in 15 to 20 acre lots in the 1850's.

Areas near Kenmore and Brookfield supplied lumber for Brisbane throughout the 1850s and 1860s.There were also small farms that developed a number of crops.

Tourist attraction in Kenmore

Kenmore Village Shopping Center is located near the intersection of Moggill Road and Brookfield Road.

Kenmore Plaza is another major shopping hub in the city.

The suburb  is also about two kilometers from the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, a massive mall of over 250 shopping outlets.
