About Lutwyche

Lutwyche is a residential suburb of Brisbane City, Queensland, Australia. It’s located 5 kilometers north of the main business district of the city.

The suburb has3,454 population according to the 2016 census.

The main road through the neighborhood is Lutwyche Avenue, a busy thoroughfare which is part of Metroad 3. Aside from the Centro Lutwyche shopping center, Lutwyche Road is filled with several small shops and restaurants.

The northwestern border of Lutwyche is established by Kedron Brook, a creek lined with parklands and a bikeway.

History of Lutwyche

The area is named for Alfred Lutwyche, a New South Wales Supreme Court justice. He was confirmed on 21 February 1859 at Moreton Bay as Supreme Court judge, just before Queensland was given self-governance.

Lutwyche bought a property on 12 January 1864, which later on become St. Andrew's Church of England on1866.

Tourist attraction in Lutwyche

National Park Springbrook is a very well-protected national park located in Queensland, Australia's Gold Coast hinterland. This 6,197-hectare park is situated on the McPherson Range near Springbrook, 100 kilometers south of Brisbane.

The park is also a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Shield Volcano Group. The park is a great launch site for endless waterfalls and cascades that the city is also popular for.
