About South Brisbane

Brisbane South, the main suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on the south side of the river.

History of South Brisbane

The Kurilpa is recognized by the Indigenous community to the south of Brisbane along with the West End and Highgate Hill, and the area remains important for the indigenous population.

For several years, Musgrave Park has become a meeting venue for the Murri in the southeast of Queensland. It was found on the site of a bora triangle. To fisheries and gunyah houses, the Ngundari communities and Jagara were attracted to the South Brisbane River.
